The Best Time to Visit Southeast Asia (Month by Month)
June 2, 2026
Southeast Asia is warm year-round, but "warm" and "pleasant" are not the same thing. Here is our quick planner based on a decade of running group departures.
November – February: the sweet spot
Cooler, drier air across Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam makes this the premium window. Expect peak prices in December — book 2–3 months ahead.
March – April: hot but quiet
Temperatures climb, but crowds thin and hotel rates drop. A good trade-off for city-focused trips like Bangkok–Pattaya.
May – October: monsoon strategy
Yes, it rains — usually in sharp afternoon bursts rather than all-day soaks. Bali is actually dry and excellent June to September, making it our favourite monsoon-season swap.
