Your First Umrah: A Practical Checklist

Performing Umrah for the first time is a deeply moving experience — and a bit of preparation makes it far smoother. This is the checklist we hand to every pilgrim in our premium groups.

Documents

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Umrah visa (processed through your licensed operator)
  • Vaccination certificate (meningitis ACWY is mandatory)
  • Printed hotel and flight confirmations

Packing

  • Ihram (2 unstitched white sheets for men; simple loose clothing for women)
  • Comfortable slippers — you will walk far more than you expect
  • Unscented soap for the state of Ihram
  • Power bank, universal adapter (Type G sockets in Saudi Arabia)
  • A small pouch for your slippers inside the mosque

Before you fly

  1. Learn the duas of Tawaf and Sa'ee — our groups practise together before departure.
  2. Download offline maps of the Haram area.
  3. Carry Saudi Riyals in small notes for trolleys and water.

During Umrah

  • Stay hydrated — Zamzam is everywhere, and free.
  • Follow your group leader's meeting-point instructions inside the mosque; it is enormous.
  • Be patient and kind — the crowd is the test as much as the journey.

Our monthly premium Umrah departures include scholar-led guidance in Bangla from Dhaka to Madinah. See the full package.
